This is the perfect project for an experienced crocheter, but beginner crocheters will find support in the full video as well. Getting started is easy with double crochet stitches working up quickly as a simple triangle shawl before the stitch pattern.
You might also like the Lilla Shawl which is an easy triangle shawl crochet pattern in worsted weight yarn. Like this one, I chose a cotton yarn so you can use it in warmer weather or as the days cool off. The simple pattern works up quickly and easily so you’ll have your finished shawl in no time.
Materials
2000 yds of dk weight yarn, Berroco Modern Cotton DK* a #3 lightweight yarn (60% pima cotton, 40% modal rayon, 335 yd (97 m) per 100 g hank) divided in 4 different colors—see more detail on yarn colors below.
3.75 mm (US Size F) crochet hook,* or size needed to meet gauge.
Yarn needle, measuring tape, scissors, stitch marker(s).

- Color A 6613 Hammersmith—2 hanks ~430 yds
- Color B 6615 Chepstow—2 hanks ~490 yds
- Color C 6618 Coffee Milk—2 hanks ~370 yds
- Color D 6623 Tiverton—2 hanks ~470 yds

- Please read through all notes and pattern before you begin.
- Work up a gauge swatch using the provided gauge information. If your gauge matches great, continue on. If not, change your hook size and swatch again. If your stitches are smaller, go up a hook size, if they’re larger, go down a hook size.
- Beginning chains count a stitch unless otherwise stated in the pattern.

- Color changing tip: before the last movement of last stitch before the color change, drop the first color and pick up the second color, finish the stitch in the new color.
- The picot tutorial here uses ch 3, but in this pattern it is only a ch 2.

Instructions
Begin with color A.
Row 1. Start with a mc, or ch 3, sl st to first ch to create a circle. In circle place 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc, ch 2 (this chain space is the center increase point), 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc, turn. [15 sts]
Row 2. Ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 1 here & throughout), sk next 2 sts, 3 dc in next ch 1 sp, ch 1, sk next 3 sts, place (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in ch 2 sp, ch 1, sk next 3 dc, 3 dc in next ch 1 sp, ch 1, sk next 2 dc, dc in last st, turn. [20 sts]
Row 3. Ch 4, 3 dc in next ch 1 sp, ch 1, sk next 3 sts, 3 dc in next ch 1 sp, ch 1, sk next 3 sts, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in ch 2 sp, ch 1, sk 3 sts, 3 dc in next ch 1 sp, ch 1, sk 3 s ts, 3 dc in last ch 1 sp, dc in last stitch, turn. [28 sts]

Change to color B.
Last Row. Ch 3, 2 dc in same stitch, ch 5, sk 8 sts, p between next 2 ldc, *ch 5, sk 6 sts, 3 dc in sc, ch 5, sk next 6 sts, p between next 2 ldc; rep * until 9 sts left, ch 5, sk 8 sts, 3 dc in last st.
Finishing
Cut yarn and weave in loose ends.
Block your Shawl
Either allow your shawl to soak for 30 mins or spritz it with water until damp.
Lay it out on blocking mats or a large, flat, clean surface like a table or bed covered in towels.
Gently smooth out into shape.
Pin along edges to keep in place, about every couple of inches.
Allow to dry overnight.
