Materials
- #4 medium worsted weight yarn (100% superwash merino wool,* 218 yd (180 m) per 199 g skein) — 1 skein.
- 4 mm (US Size G–4) crochet hook for ribbing
- 5 mm (US Size H–8) hook for hat body* (or size needed to meet gauge).
- Measuring tape, yarn needle, stitch markers (1+) and scissors.

Notes
- This hat pattern is worked top down, in the round.
- Each round is worked continuously, do not join. Mark the first st with a stitch marker. Move the stitch marker up to the first st of each round.
- Ch 3 counts as a stitch, I recommend a ch 3 alternative like this one.
- Brim rounds are joined with a slip stitch.
Gauge
5 sts x 6 rnds (after blocking) to 1” (2.5 cm) measured in sc with larger hook.
Please swatch carefully, as incorrect gauge will cause the pattern to come out the wrong size.

Adjustments
To make a slouchy hat you can crochet more repeat rounds to make your hat 1 – 3” taller. Add these after your last round of increases. This will give you the slouchy effect.
