Materials
- 55 yds Dishie* a #4 medium worsted weight yarn (100% Cotton, 190 yd (174 m) per 100 g skein) divided in shades white (53 yds) & black (2 yds).
- 4 mm US size G–4 crochet hook,* or hook size needed to meet gauge.
- Yarn needle, measuring tape, scissors, stitch marker(s).
Notes
- Please read through all notes and pattern before you begin.
- This free crochet ghost pattern is worked in the round from the top down.
- You can choose a different yarn although I chose cotton for absorbency, and always be sure to check gauge or your finished product may vary in size.
Gauge
7 sts x 6 rnds (after blocking) to 2” (5 cm) measured in esc.
Sizing
6.5” tall x 4.5” at its widest point (16.5 cm x 11.5 cm)
Fits a 9.375 FL OZ (277 mL) hand soap bottle.

Construction
This pattern is worked in continuous rounds, or a spiral. You will work around and around in a circle so you will need to mark the first stitch of each round with a stitch marker.
Adjustments
To adjust the height add more or less repeats of round 3.
To adjust the width add more or less increases, as round 8.
Pattern Instructions
Ghost Hand Soap Cozy
This cute little crochet ghost fits over your hand soap to add festive Halloween flair!
Materials
- 55 yds Dishie a #4 medium worsted weight yarn (100% Cotton, 190 yd (174 m) per 100 g skein) divided in shades white (53 yds) & black (2 yds).
Tools
- 4 mm hook, or size needed to meet gauge.
- Tapestry needle, measuring tape, scissors, stitch marker(s).
- Optional 12 mm safety eyes if you prefer to use them.
Instructions
Start with white yarn.
Rnd 1. Fsc 12, or chain 13 and sc in 2nd ch from your hook and in each ch across. [12 sts]
This is the top of the ghost and should fit over your soap dispenser pump. You may adjust it to any number of stitches to fit your specific size.
Bring the ends together to form the circle, when you work the first st of the next rnd it will join it together. 
Rnd 2. Place 2 esc in each st around. [24 sts]
Place sm in first st of rnd and move it up each rnd.
Rnds 3 – 7. Esc in each st around. [24]
Rnd 8. *Esc in next 3 sts, 2 esc in next st; rep * around. [30 sts]
Rnds 9 – 20. Rep rnd 3. [30 sts]
Rnd 21. *Sc, 2 sc; rep * around. [45 sts]
Sl st over 2x, pull up a long loop and cut yarn.
Weave in ends.
Eyes
If you're using them, insert safety eyes.
Make 2 in black yarn.
Worked continuously.
Start with a mc.
Rnd 1. 6 sc in mc.
Rnd 2. 2 sc in first st, sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts.
Sl st 1x, pull up a long loop through the last st, leave a long tail for sewing, and cut yarn. 
Using remaining yarn tail or length of black yarn and needle place eyes, centered on rnds 7 – 8, sew eyes on. Embroider on mouth 1 rnd below eyes with 3 sts between them.
