Easy Textured Blanket Square Free Crochet Pattern

Sharing is caring!

The Picco Square is an easy textured crochet blanket square pattern. The stitches resembling a peak, which is picco in Italian, are what gives this square its beautiful texture.

The stitch pattern for the Picco includes mostly double crochet stitches so it works up quickly. To make the peaks we use double crochet decreases and post stitches. While these may not be considered basic stitches the repeat makes this an easy crochet pattern.

To make sure this 6″ crochet blanket square is an easy pattern for you it also includes a video tutorial.

These types of granny squares are so great because you can keep increasing them and make a baby blanket, or even a square throw blanket.

This blanket design is worked in the round so you will slip stitch to join the end of each row and continue in the same direction.
