How to Knit the Easy Lena Dishcloth Pattern Fast

Sharing is caring!

The Lena is a simple dishcloth pattern with an easy to remember two row repeat. And since this is a rib style stitch pattern you knit the knits and purl the purls. So if you get distracted and forget where you are in the pattern it’s extra easy to figure out which stitch goes next. It’s the perfect pattern for watching tv while keeping your hands busy.

Notes

  1. Please read through all notes and pattern before you begin.
  2. Please check gauge first.
  3. Stitch multiple is 9 plus 8.
  4. Use any cast on method you prefer.
  5. This is a rib style pattern so after the pattern is set you are knitting the knits and purling the purls, excluding the edges which are always knits.
  6. The rib stitch pattern does cause it to pull in, but it stretches out as well.

Adjustments

To make a different width dishcloth you need a stitch multiple of 9. You can easily adjust this by adding or subtracting 9 to my cast on number. To shorten or lengthen your dishcloth simply stop or add more repeat rows. Remember when adjusting that changes will also affect the amount of yarn needed so plan accordingly.
