I love a stitch pattern that uses simple knit stitches and purls! The fabric here is like stockinette stitch. The wrong side is mostly purls and the right side mostly knits with purl bumps to break it up.

The Yarn

For the Ribby Square I used Brava Worsted in the color Dove Heather. This acrylic yarn has a pretty sheen to it. The drape is lovely for a #4 medium worsted weight yarn.

This square uses less than one skein of yarn so you may be able to use leftover yarn. Yarn scraps work great for a patchwork blanket.

Other supplies you’ll need are 4.5 mm needles. I use my circular knitting needles but you can use straight needles. Circular needles are just what I have!

And your basic knitting notions: scissors, tapestry needle, measuring tape. A stitch marker is not necessary, unless you want to mark the right side.
