Girl turned to side in cream colored cotton bucket hat.

The Mela is a bucket style hat so it has a gentle increase from top to the brim edge. Most of the hat is basic crochet stitches. There are video tutorial links for the post stitches included. Other than those it’s an easy bucket hat pattern.

Materials

#4 medium worsted weight yarn newborn size pictured in Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Cotton (100% Cotton 180 yd (165 m) per 198 g skein) in shade Periwinkle: 1 skein & child size pictured in Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton* (100% Mercerized Cotton, 185 yd (170 m) per 100 g skein) in shade Ecru: 1 skein.
5 mm US size H–5 crochet hook,* or size needed to meet gauge.
Yarn needle, measuring tape, scissors, stitch marker(s).
