Sharing is caring!

What better project for fall than a ribbed cozy for your coffee! These crochet cup sleeves are quick, fun and so addictive to make. Crochet a dozen in different colors to sell at craft fairs, give as gifts, or keep for your daily latte habit.

I use cotton yarn for mug cozies, but a cotton blend or acrylic yarn is totally acceptable too.

Materials

  • 45 yds WeCrochet Dishie Yarn* a #4 medium worsted weight yarn (100% Cotton, 190 yd (174 m) per 100 g skein) in shades Sunbaked & Come Brûlée: 1 [1] skeins.
  • 5 mm US size H–8 crochet hook,* or size needed to meet gauge.
  • Yarn needle, measuring tape, scissors, stitch marker(s).

Notes

  1. Please read through all notes and pattern before you begin.
  2. Please check gauge first.
  3. Stitch multiple is 2.
  4. Ch 3 counts as a st, I recommend a ch 3 alternative like this one.

Gauge

7 sts x 4 rows (after blocking) to 2” (5 cm) measured in dc.

Please swatch carefully, as incorrect gauge will cause the pattern to come out the wrong size.

Sizing

3.5″ x 4.5” when flat (9 cm x 11.5 cm)

Stretches to fit a 9” (23 cm) travel to-go cup.

Skill Level

Intermediate

The stitch pattern includes more than basic stitches so it’s graded as intermediate. However I included step by step instructions and a full video tutorial so adventurous makers can give it a go!

Adjustments

If your favorite mug is a different size, no worries. To adjust the height of your cup cozy continue the one round repeat, or shorten it.

To adjust the width of cozy increase or decrease the number of stitches in twos. You need an even number of stitches.
