Sharing is caring!

Learn how to make a dishcloth from granny squares in this step by step tutorial with video. The Warm Citrus Dishcloth works up quickly with 3″ grannies.

You can choose the beautiful yarn colors seen here for your granny square dishcloth, or use your favorite colors. And I love a crocheted kitchen accessory as they’re so very useful for everyone!

I think grannies are a great crochet pattern because you can add more or less rounds to make it the right size for your project.

This granny square design is made from 12 granny squares. The squares are worked in the round from the center out. Then they are seamed together using the slip stitch. You can use your preferred method for seaming if you’d rather use the whip stitch or mattress stitch as well.

Gauge

12 sts x 4 rnds (after blocking) to 3” (7.5 cm) measured in dc.

Sizing

The finished size (after blocking) is 10.5” wide x 14” long.

Adjustments

You can adjust the desired size of your dishcloth by adding or subtracting more squares. 9 squares makes a nice washcloth size. Remember each squares doesn’t use much yarn but if you’re making changes you’ll want to adjust your yarn amount as well.
