Lito Skinny Necktie Scarf Free Knitting Pattern
Lito allows this vibrant yarn to breathe accenting the textures and finishes in one stylish neck scarf. The simple garter stitch fabric is the perfect complement to this highly variable yarn. This single knot necktie scarf can also be worn using a shawl pin or clip. Fits most adults.
I love how this yarn works up in this little scarf! The different colors and textures are so pretty. It’s been such a nice yarn to work with. You can use any #5 bulky yarn to knit this skinny scarf pattern. I’m sure hand-dyed yarn would make a gorgeous scarf.

This simple garter stitch means this is an ultra beginner-friendly project! That means both sides are worked in easy knit stitches.
There are increases and decreases to shape the tails. If these are not part of your current knitting skills, don’t worry there’s a video!
Materials
- 50 yd Universal Yarn’s Bamboo Bloom Handpaints* a #5 bulky weight yarn (48% Rayon, 154 yd (140 m) per 100 g hank) in shade 334 Nami: 1 hank.
- 5.5 mm (US 9) needles,* or size needed to meet gauge.
- Yarn needle, measuring tape, scissors, stitch marker(s).
I know this Bamboo Bloom Handpaints is a really specific yarn but I use another #5 yarn for the matching crochet hat video and it works really well too.

Construction
This pattern is worked in flat rows. You’ll begin with increases to reach the width. Then work it flat for length. To finish you will decrease back down creating points on either end. This is a really great project to build on your skills if you’re a new knitter!
