Make these simple rectangles into gloves with a little sewing. Seam the sides, leave the thumb hole open for this easy crochet pattern.
Anyone who appreciates warm hands on your list will love receiving these handmade fingerless gloves for the winter season.

These gloves are a simple design so they are easy to lengthen also. Just crochet more rows. It’s a great pattern to customize for your exact needs.
Yarn
The yarn I use to make these gloves is from Hobby Lobby. It’s Yarn Bee Secret Soft which an acrylic yarn. It’s a #4 medium worsted weight yarn, so any similar yarn will work up well. Look for anti pilling yarn for best results.
I also made several of these in Red Heart Super Saver and Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn. I made a bunch of different colors for my kids.
You can get the child size pattern here and the women’s sizes pattern here. This is such an easy crochet project to keep hands warm in cold weather.
These don’t have to be made in a solid color. You can use up scrap yarn and make a striped stash buster too.
Stitch
The half double crochet is one of my favorite basic crochet stitches. It works up quickly and easily. I find the hdc to have a nice texture for simple projects.
A pair of warm fingerless gloves takes very little time to make.
