Common Crochet Terms + Abbreviations with Tutorials
Learning to crochet includes learning all the abbreviations used in written crochet patterns. Some crochet abbreviations make sense, but some are more challenging to understand.
It’s important to know specifically the terms in your written crochet pattern. I use US Terms in my crochet patterns.
Although overwhelming at first, knowing the most common abbreviations will come quickly the more you use them.
Below I include a chart with the most common abbreviations and their descriptions. This is not an all inclusive list, but the more frequently used ones.
