Superbulky Knit Hat Pattern In Two Colors Mattone Hat

Sharing is caring!

The Mattone Hat is a quick knit in two contrasting colors of superbulky yarn. It’s warm & cozy and just makes the best last-minute gift.

A small project like this cozy beanie in a simple design is a great choice if you’re a new knitter, especially to colorwork. The super bulky yarns make the stitches easy to see and the colors simple to carry in this easy pattern.

The stitch pattern is super simple, it’s mostly knit stitches with some purls. The main color I chose is a green, succulent with accent in fisherman, the cream. Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick is a favorite for super bulky knit hats!

Finishing
Cut a long tail. 8-12" is plenty of length. Thread tail on to yarn needle.
Weave long tail through all live stitches. After the last stitch, remove needles and pull to close. I find this to be the easiest way to finish a hat.
Optionally you may want to add a faux fur pom pom to the top of the hat.
Sew hole closed.
