The stripes add interest especially for a man’s hat. You can make the colors as simple or bold as you desire in this easy pattern.
This is a simple and easy crochet hat that even beginners can make and give to their loved ones. The half double crochet stitches give this beanie a little texture.
The Yarn
Lion Brand’s Heartland* is such a soft, squishy yarn I just love working with it. The subtle color flecks throughout work up into a gorgeous and fun hat. Beanies in a favorite color make great gifts.
This yarn is soft, warm and machine washable so it’s perfect for a men’s classic beanie. I choose two different colors of yarn to stripe. But you can pick only one, or even three or four.

Check out some of my other free crochet hat patterns made with Lion Brand’s Heartland Yarn and different stitches: Textured Slouchy Hat and the Mini Puff Stitch Hat.
The Ana Slouch is a slouchy crochet hat made with bulky yarn so it’s a fast make.
The half double crochet is a favorite stitch of mine. I use it worked in the 3rd loops for this Pumpkin Hat pattern. It makes the best ridges.

I love this hat and wondering if you sell beanies like this through an online store. Thanks!
