Crochet Along

Materials
- 36 yd #4 medium worsted weight yarn* (100% Acrylic, 355 yd (325 m) per 199 g skein) divided in shades Red [1] color A + White [1] color B.
- 6 mm US size J–10 crochet hook,* or size needed to meet gauge.
- .75” (19 mm) button, sewing needle + thread.
- Yarn needle, measuring tape, scissors, stitch marker(s).
Notes
- Please read through all notes and pattern before you begin.
- Please check gauge first.
- Stitch multiple is 2 + 1.
Gauge
13 sts x 16 rows (after blocking) to 4” (10 cm) measured in sc.
Please swatch carefully, as incorrect gauge will cause the pattern to come out the wrong size.
Sizing
4″ wide x 8” tall (10 cm x 20.5 cm) before assembly.

Adjustments
To adjust height repeat or leave off more rows.
To adjust the width increase or decrease the number of chains in twos, then add one more. You need an odd number of stitches.

sc – single crochet
sc2tog – single crochet two together
sk – skip the indicated stitch

Special Stitches
bo – bobble: *yarn over, insert hook into stitch to be worked, yarn over & pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops; working into the same stitch rep from * 4 more times, you will have 6 loops on the hook, yarn over & pull through all of them.

Crochet Christmas Gift Card Envelope
Crochet a gift card holder in Christmas colors with a nod to Santa beard in the bobble stitch!
Materials
- 36 yd #4 medium worsted weight yarn (100% Acrylic, 355 yd (325 m) per 199 g skein) divided in shades Red [1] color A + White [1] color B.
Tools
- 6 mm US size J–10 crochet hook,* or size needed to meet gauge.
- .75” (19 mm) button, sewing needle + thread.
- Yarn needle, measuring tape, scissors, stitch marker(s).
Instructions
In color A.
Row 1. Fsc 13, or ch 14 and sc in 2nd ch from your hook, turn. [13 sts]
Row 2. Ch 1, sc in same st and in each st across, turn.
Rep row 2 until work measures 5.5” tall. Cut yarn leaving a long tail for seaming.
Envelope Closure
Row count starts over.Change to color B.
Row 1. Ch 1, sc in same st and in each st across, turn. [13 sts]
Row 2. Ch 1, sc2tog, bo, *sc, bo; rep from * until last 2 sts, sc2tog, turn. [11 sts]
Row 3. Ch 1, sc2tog, sc in each st until last 2 sts, sc2tog, turn. [9 sts]
Rep rows 2 – 3 until you have 3 sts left.Last row (button loop). Ch 3, sk center st, sl st to last st. Cut yarn.
Seam
With work on WS, fold red rows in half. Be sure to leave white envelope closure open.Use yarn needle and long tail, or length of matching thread to sew sides together stopping at white envelope flap. Cut yarn and weave in ends.Sew button on bottom front with sewing needle and matching thread. Check that button loop closes around button.
