Best Crochet Mesh Step by Step Tutorial
Learn how to make the best crochet mesh. This simple pattern is a double crochet mesh that works up quickly!
Materials
- Any weight yarn, I'm using a #4 worsted weight yarn - Caron Simply Soft in Heather Grey in the video and Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton yarn in Ecru for the photo tutorial.
Tools
- A hook to match your yarn, I'm using my Furls Alpha 5.5mm I (9) hook in these photos.
Instructions
- Chain a multiple of 3, plus 2.
- For this tutorial, I'll chain 18 + 2 = ch 20. You can add or subtract 3 to my starting chain to adjust this.
- Row 1. Double crochet in the 8th chain from your hook. The skipped chains will count as the first double crochet and two chains.
- (Row 1 continued) Chain 2 and skip 2 chains.
- (Row 1 continued) Double crochet in the next chain.
- (Row 1 continued) Repeat this across: Ch 2, sk 2, dc in next ch
- (Row 1 continued) You'll end with a dc in the last ch, turn your work.
- Row 2. To start the next row, ch 5, (the skipped chains count as the first dc + ch 2,
- (Row 2 continued) Sk 2 chs, dc in the next dc.
- (Row 2 continued) Repeat this across: Ch 2, sk 2, dc in the next dc.
- (Row 2 continued) At the end of this row, you'll have the 8 skipped chains from our starting chain. Skip the first 2 chains and dc in the 3rd ch and turn your work.
- Row 3. Ch 5, sk 2, dc in the next, *{ch 2, sk 2, dc in the next} rep across the row, end with the last dc in the 3rd of the ch 5, turn.
- Rep the last row for length of project!
