Lieto Skinny Scarf Necktie Free Crochet Pattern
Lieto combines the contrasting textures and finishes of this gorgeous yarn into one stylish neck scarf. The simple single crochet stitches allow this vibrant yarn to do all the talking. Sized to fit most adults with a single knot tie, it can also be worn using a shawl pin or clip.

Materials
- 70 yd Universal Yarn’s Bamboo Bloom Handpaints a #5 bulky weight yarn (48% Rayon, 154 yd (140 m) per 10 g hank) in shade 334 Nami: 1 hank.
- 6.5 mm US size K–10.5 crochet hook,* or size needed to meet gauge.
- Yarn needle, measuring tape, scissors, stitch marker(s).

Notes
- Please read through all notes and pattern before you begin.
- Please check gauge first.
- Ch 1 does not count as a stitch.
Gauge
7 sts x 8 rows (after blocking) to 2” (5 cm) measured in sc.
Sizing
2.5″ wide x 31” long (6.5 cm x 78.5 cm)

Construction
This pattern is worked in flat rows. You’ll begin with increases to reach the width. Then work it flat for length. To finish you will decrease back down creating points on either end.
Adjustments
To adjust the length of this pattern repeat more or less of the single crochet rows to your desired length.
To adjust the width increase or decrease the number of increase rows until you reach the desired width.
To adjust the length of the pointed ends add more or less single crochet rows in between increase or decrease rows.

Pattern Instructions
Start with a slip knot on your hook.
Row 1. Ch 1, sc in ch 1, turn. [1 st]
Row 2. Ch 1, 2 sc in same st, turn. +1 [2 sts]
Row 3. Ch 1, sc in same st and in each st across, turn. [2 sts]
Row 4. Ch 1, 2 sc in same st and in next st, turn. +2 [4 sts]
Row 5. Rep row 3.
Row 6. Ch 1, 2 sc in same st, sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in last st, turn. +2 [6 sts]
Row 7. Rep row 3.
Row 8. Ch 1, 2 sc in same st, sc in each st until 1 st left, 2 sc in last st, turn. +2 [8 sts]
Row 9. Rep row 3 until work measures 30” or to desired length.
Decrease
Row count starts over.
Row 1. Ch 1, sc2tog, sc in each st until 2 sts left, sc2tog, turn. -2 [6 sts]
Row 2. Ch 1, sc in same st and in each st across, turn. [6 sts]
Row 3. Ch 1, sc2tog, sc in each st until 2 sts left, sc2tog, turn. -2 [4 sts]
Row 4. Ch 1, sc in same st and in each st across, turn. [4 sts]
