Summer Sun Hat Crochet Pattern

Crochet a cotton sun hat for summer, in sizes for the family! This free crochet hat pattern includes sizes for baby through adult.

While the cotton yarn is a summer classic, you can also crochet this sun hat in acrylic yarn. The open mesh sides make it breathable.

Adorn your hat with a ribbon for a sweet finish. These crochet sun hats make fabulous baby gifts, and you can crochet one for mom to match too.

This easy top down hat pattern also includes a photo tutorial.

The original pattern for this sun hat was released in just toddler size. It’s been such a popular pattern, I’ve been meaning to write up more sizes. I’m so excited to finally have all the hat sizes ready!

The Yarn

The cotton yarn is so very soft. I love that it’s breathable, for a light fit.

These little hats don’t require much yarn. You can make all the sizes with one skein or less.
