Alba Scarflette Knitting Pattern

The Alba Scarflette is an easy, beginner friendly scarf knitting pattern. This chunky scarflette is knit with a simple four row repeat. If you enjoy knitting while watch tv, or listening to an audiobook then you’ll enjoy this easy knit scarf pattern.

The Alba is a simple one skein pattern. If you’d like to continue to increase your scarf or a larger size, you can do that easily.

The subtle lavender and texture makes for a beautiful chunky scarf. I love that this one keeps my neck warm, without any fussy tails.

The Alba would also style nicely with a brooch or shawl pin to keep it secure.

Yarn

This chunky yarn is Lion Brand’s Hue + Me. The color I chose for this pattern is Haze, lovely lavender.

This is the same yarn I use in the crochet pattern for the Tuscan Charm Beanie. If you also crochet, you may like these patterns, as there’s a matching cowl too.

I love how squishy and warm this #5 bulky weight yarn is around my neck. All the colors of Hue + Me yarn are muted and subtle.

You can certainly use another #5 bulky weight yarn for this cowl pattern. I recommend Color Made Easy yarn as a substitute.

Stitch

The Alba Scarflette is an easy, beginner pattern that uses knits and purls. To increase you’ll use the kfb-knit front and back.

Tip: Add a locking stitch marker to the front of your work after every row 4 repeat. This will help you keep track of where you are in the pattern.

  5. Purple textured knit scarf on needles.Rep Rows 1-4 til you have 44 rows and 81 sts. Continue the repeat here for a larger scarf, if desired.

Finishing

Cut yarn and weave in ends.

Block your scarflette.

Notes

You can also use this pattern to create a full size shawl by simply continuing the four row repeat. You'll need at least 3-4 balls of this same yarn.

If you want to start with a differnet number of stitches, you just need an odd number of stitches.
