Quick and chunky, the Carlo Baby Blanket is a cozy blanket crochet pattern. The simple stitches and easy repeat row make working up this blanket a great way to keep hands busy while watching t.v. or listening to your book.

The texture on this chunky blanket is divine. And it’s such a simple technique – just alternating stitches in the back loop and front loop.

I love the super bulky yarn for chunky crochet blanket patterns. It works up quick and it’s cozy. Plus if you’re using it on the floor to lay a little one on, then it’s thicker and makes for better padding!

This Simply Chunky yarn* made a really soft blanket. I love how Paintbox has lots of colors available!

For this blanket, I use a regular single crochet on the first few rows, the first and last stitches of each row and the last few rows to form a subtle border.

This is the perfect gift for a baby boy. The texture is beautiful and it’s sure to be a hit at baby showers.

This is an easy pattern. An entire blanket of only the single crochet stitch and just a one row repeat.

Depending on your level of crochet experience, it’s a great mindless crochet project for relaxing. Plus chunky baby blanket patterns work up so fast.

Notes

If you want to add an additional border, you can join yarn with a sl st to any corner. Single crochet evenly around the entire blanket. In each corner place (sc, ch 1, sc). When you get back around to your first st, join with a sl st. Now you can add any border you like or finish off. Remember any changes will require more yarn.
