The Yarn

Crocheted with Charisma Tweed Yarn by Loops & Thread in Cream, this #5 bulky weight yarn works up super soft and supple. As this is a thicker weight #5 yarn, substituting a #6 superbulky may also be a good option.

The Hook

In the tutorial below I use my Furls Streamline Swirl in Cookie. These lightweight hooks are also ergonomic so they keep your hands healthy!

Finished Dimensions

Adjustments

I found my #5 yarn to be very fluffy, compared to others I’ve worked with. If you have trouble meeting gauge with a 10mm hook, instead of going up a hook size you might try increasing your starting chain instead.

To increase your wrap’s width by another center rep and keep 12 sts on either end, increase your starting chain by a multiple of 3. For example, Ch 43, and follow the center rep 1 more time. Or Ch 46 and follow the center rep 2 more times, and so on.

On either side of the center section there are 12 dcs. To widen your wrap by adding more dcs to both sections (and leave the center section the same), increase your starting ch by a multiple of 2. Then distribute those sts to either side of the center section. For example, Ch 42, and instead of making 12 dcs on both sides of the center, you would make 13 dcs on both sides, and keep the center section the same. Or Ch 44, and make 14 dc on both sides, and so forth and so on.

These instructions will make more sense once you read over the pattern.
