Latte Capelet Cowl Free Crochet Pattern

Sharing is caring!

I have found my new fall favorite! This capelet cowl is so perfect for this time of year. It keeps my neck and shoulders warm when I need it and is easy pull off once those afternoons warm up.

You’ve probably seen the new Caron Latte Cakes at Michael’s but have you tried them? I’ll admit, fuzzy yarn can look intimidating but I’m here to tell you this yarn is not scary! Super soft, yes. Easy to work with, yes. Comes in gorgeous colorways, yes. And it’s a #5 bulky yarn, so it works up fast!

What I noticed working with this yarn is that the fuzz-the long fibers that stick out, giving it an ethereal quality don’t impede my crochet hook. They’re long enough to stand out and away from the main yarn strand.

The fibers are also white, while the yarn itself is colored (& self striping for fewer ends!), this makes the main yarn and my stitches easy to see.

Now frogging is never fun and I did have to frog a few times when I missed an increase, but besides a few stitches catching on the fibers I had no problems. I just had to loosen up and work that stitch apart and then I could carry on pulling out the row.

Once I had my hands on this yarn I had to stop all my other wips (I’m sure you can relate) and work up this capelet pattern. I’ve posted the capelet cowl crochet pattern below.
