Hat Materials
*(For Both Hat & Scarf you’ll need 2 balls of Red Heart with Love in contrasting colors)
- Red Heart with Love* in Papaya (Color A) and Brown (Color B) #4 med worsted weight yarn, Baby 6-12 mos-110 yds, (Toddler-135 yds, Child-145 yds, Tween-160 yds, Sm Adult-185 yds, Lg Adult-195 yds) Approximately 2/3rds of the yardage is in Color A & 1/3 of it is Color B.
- 5.5 mm (I) hook*
- Yarn needle*
- Measuring tape*
- Scissors*
Hat Notes
- First you will work the brim of the hat in rows and sew the short ends together to form the band.
- Then you will attach your yarn to the top of the band and crochet in rounds for the rest of the hat.
- Pattern is written as Baby 6-12 mos (Toddler, Child, Tween, Sm Adult, Lg Adult)
- Stitch multiple is 3 for the main hat stitch.

Fit
I’ve provide the “standard” head circumference by size and used a negative ease of 2” for the brim length. Of course, the best fit is with exact measurements, if you have them. This is a slouchy style hat so there is some looseness to the top.

To minimize weaving in ends, ss the ends of brim together with your working yarn and ch 1, sc 51 (57, 63, 66, 69, 75) evenly around. Then use your starting tail to sew the rest of the brim together. Alternately, you can cut your yarn and leave a tail long enough to sew the brim ends together to form the band.
