Easy Lacy Crochet Infinity Scarf a Free Pattern

Sharing is caring!

The Incrocio Cowl is a lacy scarf pattern worked in a loop for easy styling. I love how this stitch pattern and yarn combo worked out in this beautiful scarf!

Incrocio means crossroad in Italian. Since this design creates a bit of an intersection I thought it an appropriate name.

The lacy stitches in this scarf design are lovely. The simple stitches are easy enough for beginners and intriguing enough for all!

The Yarn

Lion Brand’s 24/7 cotton is one of my absolute favorite yarns. It’s the best yarn to make these lacy scarves in.

I love the color choices and sheen that this yarn has, it’s a dream to work with. The camel color I used in this cowl is also a fave of mine. I already have plans in mind for more designs in this colorway.

I love a crochet project that you can whip up quickly and bonus-this only takes one skein of yarn The hardest part will be choosing which lovely color to go with.

I gifted this cowl to my kindergartner’s teacher aide. It was her last year at his school and she was such an integral part of his first year of “real school.” I’m glad I could take the time to create something lovely for her send off. I hope she enjoys it and her new endeavors, we will miss her.

While I’ve created the Incrocio Cowl for warmer weather, in cotton yarn, any other fiber would be appropriate too. I can’t wait for cooler weather to try it out in wool. But until then I will keep crocheting away in the all the cotton!

The Stitch

This easy crochet scarf pattern does not use any special stitches. The main stitch I use in this pattern is the iris stitch. It’s gorgeous cluster of double crochet stitches that’s easy to make. I use it for the stitch counts since they’re easy to see.

Video Tutorial for the Iris Stitch

The iris stitches are linked with chain stitches that are secured with single crochet stitches. This creates the lacy crochet stitch in the x like pattern, or intersection the scarf is named for.
