The three colors combine well, giving this crochet tablet case a color block effect. You can tailor these to your liking.
Maybe my niece will like it so much, she’ll put her tablet away when she’s done. Not to mention, taking the time to wrap up the earbuds and stow them away too.
If you’re not quite ready for fall crocheting this chunky crochet tablet cover is a great summer project. It’s small, quick and useful. My niece requested this one for her Kindle Fire* and even provided the yarn (she’s still learning).

Materials
150 yds #6 super bulky yarn Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick yarn* divided in 3 colors: Fairy (Color A) 75 yds, Blossom (Color B)50 yds, Raspberry (Color C) 25 yds.
7mm US Size L crochet hook,* or hook needed to meet gauge.

Needle and matching thread for sewing the button on
Notes
- Ch 1 counts as a stitch, you work into it so you may want to ch 1 loosely.
- It may also help to mark the ch 1 with a st marker.
Finished Dimensions
The finished sleeve, after seaming with pocket buttoned is 9″ long X 5.5″ wide.
Pocket measures 4″ square.
Construction
This pattern is worked in one long rectangle. Then there is one color change.
The sides are seamed. The button is hand sewn on the inside (under the flap).
The pocket is crocheted separately and then sewn on the front.

rep – repeat
Gauge
4″/ 10 cm x 4″/ 10 cm = 10 sts X 10 rows in the pattern. The pocket measures 4″ x 4″ so you can work one up and check gauge that way.

Tablet Cover Crochet Pattern in Chunky Yarn

- 150 yds #6 super bulky yarn Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick yarn* divided in 3 colors: Fairy (Color A) 75 yds, Blossom (Color B)50 yds, Raspberry (Color C) 25 yds.
- 3/4″ button
Tools
- 7mm US Size L crochet hook
- yarn needle
- Needle and matching thread for sewing the button on
Instructions
For the Pocket in Color C:
Ch 11,
Row 1. Sc in 2nd ch & sc in each ch across, turn. (10 sts)
Row 2. Ch 1 (counts), sk first sc, sc in next st, *{ch 1, sk next st, sc in next st} rep from * across, turn. (10 sts)
Row 3. Ch 1, sk first st, *{sc into ch sp, ch 1, sk next sc} rep from * to end, sc in turning ch, turn. (10 sts)
Rows 4-10. Rep Row 3, leave a long tail for seaming. FO and set aside.
Back in Color A:
Ch 15 for an 8" width, 19 for 10" width, 23 for 12" width.
Row 1. Sc in 2nd ch & sc in each ch across, turn. (14, 18, 22 sts)
Row 2. Ch 1 (counts), sk first sc, sc in next st, *{ch 1, sk next st, sc in next st} rep from * across, turn.(14, 18, 22 sts)
Row 3. Ch 1, sk first st, *{sc into ch sp, ch 1, sk next sc} rep from * to end, sc in turning ch, turn. (14, 18, 22 sts)
Rows 4 - 34. Rep Row 3, or until rectangle measures 13.5"/ 34.5 cm long, leave a long tail for seaming. FO
Change to Color B
Rep Row 4 for 20 rows, or 8"/ 20 cm long, for a total length of 21.5"/ 55 cm.
Finish
Fold over the rectangle at the color change row. This will be the bottom of the cover.
Sew together the sides together for 8"/ 20 cm. Leave the top open. The back will be longer. Turn right side out.
Mark where to sew button, on front (Color B), about 3-4 rows down from the edge. Sew button on.
With yarn needle sew pocket to front, on three sides. Pull down bottom center as you sew to give it a curved appearance.
Leave top of pocket open.
Cut yarn and weave in ends.
