Yarn
For these ear warmers I used a #4 worsted weight yarn, Red Heart Super Saver in Aran. I definitely think this will be a fun pattern to try in different colors and maybe even variegated yarn.
Stitch
The Emilia Ear Warmer is crocheted with the Alpine Stitch. This stitch has all the texture! It’s a mix of single crochet, double crochet and front post treble crochet stitches.

Materials
- 41yds/37.5m-57yds/52m of #4 worsted weight yarn, pictured in Red Heart Super Saver color Aran.
Tools
- 5mm US size H-8 crochet hook, or hook needed to meet gauge
- yarn needle
- scissors
- measuring tape
Instructions
- Fdc 38 (44, 48, 54, 58) or chain 40 (46, 50, 56, 60) dc in 3rd ch from hook (skipped chains don’t count), dc in each ch across, join with a sl st and turn.
- Ch 1, in same st sc, sc in each st around, join and turn. (38, 44, 48, 54, 58 sts)
- (RS) Ch 2, in same st dc, skipping the sc row FPtr in dc of row below,
*(dc in next sc of current row, skipping the sc row FPtr in dc of row below) rep from * around, join and turn.
- Ch 1, in same st sc, sc in each st around, join with a sl st and turn. (38, 44, 48, 54, 58 sts)
- Ch 2, in same st dc, skipping the sc row FPtr in dc of row below, *(dc in next sc of current row, skipping the sc row FPtr in dc of row below) rep from * around, join and turn.
- Rep Rnd 4.
- Rep Rnd 5. Stop here for baby/toddler/child size.

Finishing
Cut yarn, leave a long tail.
Pinch at seam.
Sew pinch together with yarn tail to secure.
Cut yarn and weave in ends.
