Notes
- Please read through all notes and pattern before you begin.
- Work up a gauge swatch using the provided gauge information. If your gauge matches great, continue on, if it does not, change your hook size and swatch again. If your stitches are smaller, go up a hook size, if they’re larger, go down a hook size.
- Ch 3 counts as a stitch, I highly recommend using a ch 3 alternative, here’s my favorite.
- Ch 1 at beginning of round does not count as a stitch.
- Cowl is worked in the round, joining each round with a slip stitch.
- Stitch multiple is 4.
- Color changes happen at the start of a new round so you can cut yarn and join with a slip stitch or carry the yarn up the rows.

Special Stitch
cluster- is a modified version of the dc cluster: *(Yo, insert hook in st, yo, pull through st, yo, pull through 2 loops on hook), rep from * 2 more times, (you’ll have 4 loops on hook) yo, pull through all 4 loops on hook, DO NOT ch 1. To help the cluster pop-pull tight and push it out with your thumb.

4”/10cm x 4”/10cm = 8.5 sc x 9 rows of sc, unblocked

Adjustment
To make a longer or shorter cowl, add or subtract to my starting chain in 4s.

Instructions
- In Color A
Ch 60
Row 1. FSC 60, or ch 61 and sc in 2nd ch from your hook and in each ch across, join with a sl st to first st. (60 sts) - Row 2. Ch 1, *{2 sc in blo, sk 1 st, 2 sc in flo, sk 1 st} rep * around, join with sl st. (60 sts)
- Row 3. Rep row 2.
Color B - Row 4. Ch 3, dc in next 2 sts, cluster in next st, *{dc in next 3 sts, cluster in next st} rep * around, join with sl st. (60 sts)
Color A - Row 5. Ch 3, 3 dc all in same st, sk next 3 sts, *{place 4 dc in next st, sk next 3 sts} rep *around, join with sl st. (60 sts)
Color B - Row 6. Ch 1 (loosely), starting in same st dc2tog, *{ch 2, dc2tog, dc2tog} rep * until 2 sts left, dc2tog, join with sl st. (60 sts)
Color A - Row 7. FPdc, *{place 2 sc in ch 2 sp, FPdc, FPdc} rep * until last 3 sts, place 2 sc in ch 2 sp, FPdc in last st, join with a sl st. (60 sts)
