The Yarn
I use Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Cotton which is a #4 medium worsted weight yarn.
You can substitute a comparable #4 yarn. I do recommend using cotton, as you want your crochet scrubbies to be absorbent.
Materials
- #4 worsted weight cotton yarn, I used Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Cotton!* Yarn (100% cotton, 1.25oz/50g, 90yds/83m)color: yellow, or 20 yds comparable yarn.
- 4mm US size G/6 hook,* or hook needed to meet gauge.
- yarn needle
- measuring tape
- scissors
Notes
- Please read through all notes and pattern before you begin.
- Work up a gauge swatch using the provided gauge information. If your gauge matches great, continue on. If not, change your hook size and swatch again. If your stitches are smaller, go up a hook size, if they’re larger, go down a hook size.
- Ch 1 at beginning of the row does not count.

Adjustments
Gauge is not terribly important for this pattern. You can choose the hook that matches your yarn best.
If you would like to make a larger scrubby, add another round (see note in pattern on step 6).
Adding the single crochet border round tends to make it curve up a little. This will lay flat once you wet it and use it. However, you may go up a hook size for this round to have it lay flat now.
