Bria Crochet Washcloth Pattern with Video Tutorial

The Bria is an easy crochet washcloth pattern. This free crochet washcloth pattern works up with an appealing texture that works great for variegated yarns.

Materials

  • 35-70yds cotton medium worsted weight yarn, pictured is Red Heart Scrubby Smoothie in Neopolitan (pink) and Oatmeal (brown)

Tools

  • 5.5mm hook, love my Furls Alpha in Olivewood
  • Yarn needle
  • Measuring tape
  • Scissors

Instructions

    1. For the small 4.5"/11.4cm crochet washcloth FSC 16, or if you're unfamiliar with foundations stitches you can ch 17, and sc in 2nd ch from your hook and in each ch across, turn. (16 sts)

      For the large 8.5” crochet washcloth FSC 30, or if you're unfamiliar with foundations stitches you can ch 31, and sc in 2nd ch from your hook and in each ch across, turn. (30 sts) To crochet another size start with an even number of stitches.
    2. Row 2. Ch 1, sc in same st, *{sc2tog, ch 1} rep from * until there is only one st left, sc in the last st, and turn. (16, 30 sts)
    3. Row 3. Rep Row 2 until you have 15 rows, or work mesures 4.5"/11.4cm for the small cloth, and 29 rows, or work measures 8.5"/21.6cm for the large cloth.
    4. To make a differnt length cloth just change your number of rows. You can keep repeating for a longer cloth or do less repeats for a shorter one.
    5. Row 16 (30). Ch 1, sc in same st, and in each st across.
    6. The edges were nice and straight so I did not add a border.
    7. If you would like to add a simple single crohcet border then do not cut the yarn and continue from where you are.
    8. Ch 1, sc evenly down the edge, placing one sc per row.
    9. When you come the corners place a sc, ch 1, sc and then continue to sc evernly around.
    10. Sl st to first st to join.
    11. Cut yarn and weave in your ends.
