I snagged 7 skeins of this Bernat Mega Bulky Yarn at a huge discount many moons ago. It’s been sitting in my stash, until I found the perfect color compliments.

I found a few skeins of Yarn Bee Uber Luxe that were just beautiful together. Pairing them with this silver sparkle yarn was a no brainer.

I scored all this yarn at deep discounts so it cost me less than $20 for all 10 skeins. But what was I to do with all this jumbo yarn?

I think I knew pretty quickly that I would make a blanket. However, it wasn’t until I found those Uber Luxe colors that inspiration struck. So I finally invested in a jumbo hook to go with this jumbo yarn!

The Hook

My husband said it looks like a toy! Haha, well I didn’t want to invest in a nice wooden one.

I wasn’t sure if crocheting jumbo yarn was really for me yet. It was lots of fun though, and you can’t beat how fast it crochets up.

Maybe you’re like me and can’t help but collect yarn that’s so deeply discounted? I’m just glad I finally got to use it.

The blanket is just so pretty, almost too pretty to let my kids under. But they love the sparkle.

So if you’ve got some jumbo yarn and hook to go with you can whip this Chunky Chevron Blanket up in no time!
