Lunette Sun Hat Free Crochet Along, Part 1

Sharing is caring!

Hi! Welcome to my first crochet along (CAL)! I’m so excited to share this free crochet sun hat pattern with you. This pattern is written for all sizes! I can’t wait to see all of your hats and the creative choices you make to customize it.

Since hats work up quickly this will be a short CAL-just four parts. Today I’m releasing Part 1 of the CAL- the schedule and the materials needed to make your hat.

I’m giving everyone a week to get materials, even though you might have enough on hand! I know some of you will want to order just the perfect yarn for the job. And after that Parts 2-4 will be released within a week of each other.

Girl is teal sun hat with bow.

If you would like to purchase the complete pattern and work at your own pace, it’s available on Etsy and Ravelry now. The entire pattern will still be released free in parts as the Crochet Along through 7/16/18.

I used Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Cotton in Spunky Print shown in picture is teen/small adult which used almost all of the ball. I’m planning to work one up for my two year old in Lion Brand’s 24/7 cotton in Jade*, which will look lovely with her coloring. Any worsted weight yarn will work, those are just two of my favorites to work with.

I will be posting updates on my Facebook page and Instagram @christacodesign if you want to follow along on social media.

Be sure to join my Facebook group: ChristaCo Crochet Community where you can share your progress photos, ask and answer questions and generally enjoy all the yarny goodness 🙂

  3. Hi Vickie,
A CAL or crochet along is an organized event where a designer gets crocheters together to crochet the pattern at the same time. This allows people to chat with other and ask questions and share their makes. Often but not always it’s hosted on a website or FB group. Here is the ChristaCoDesign FB Group we’d love to have you https://www.facebook.com/groups/311919952679063/ The Lunette Sun Hat CAL is over, it was from a few years ago. But the pattern is still available on my site here https://christacodesign.com/lunette-sun-hat-cotton-crochet-hat-pattern/ Here is an active FB group with many designers who host CALs throughout the year. https://www.facebook.com/groups/CrochetALongwithUs I hope this helps!
