May’s Hook & Yarn Giveaway!

I’ve been up to my elbows in cotton yarn lately, working on a round of summer friendly cowls! So I thought a cotton yarn giveaway was in order for May. Here’s a little peek of one of the cowls I have coming soon. Look for this one and a several more easy, breezy cotton cowls coming soon to the blog as free patterns!

For May’s Giveaway I snagged an ergonomic hook to accompany those lovey yarn cakes. It’s size 4.5mm-perfect for this #4 medium cotton yarn. Keeping your hands comfortable and healthy is so important. And what a difference crocheting with a quality hook makes.

I chose Caron Cotton Cakes in the colorway Morning Dew. I just love these names, who comes up with them? It is so lovely, with beautiful blues, greys and pinky peach to brighten it up. It is silky smooth and with 211 yds/193 m per ball there will be plenty for any project! And it’s machine washable and dryer friendly–always a bonus in my house!

These Caron Cotton Cakes are so pretty and squishy I just want to keep them for myself! But I won’t. I can’t wait to see what the lucky winner works up with these cakes! I think my Mesh Triangle Shawl would look amazing in this colorway, and it’s easy peasy beginner friendly too!

February’s winner, Brittany made this gorgeous shawl with the Scarfie yarn she won! And what a blessing she is, donating her crocheted items to her local charity. I just love that. Do you donate your handmade items?
