January Hook & Yarn Giveaway!

The Giveaway has ended: Congrats Maggie W!

Hi y’all! Thanks for stopping by my Jan Giveaway! A new year means a new Hook & Yarn Giveaway. This month I’m giving away 3 balls of this gorgeous Caron Simply Soft Tweed yarn in off white. I’ve been working on a new pattern using the taupe and I just adore it, and so I thought you might also.

Isn’t this color the best? I love off white, it has such a vintage feel. This one is extra special with all the tweed flecks in it to contrast the white. My mind is already racing with all the gorgeous things I could make in this color! I love multi-faceted yarn that works up as a solid color, but offers such dimension. What would you make if you win these three balls of yarn?

To sweeten the deal I’m also giving away a Clover Amour Hook in size H. These hooks are so amazing. I finally received an entire set of my own for Christmas and now I know what all the hype is about! These hooks glide so smoothly through your yarn. Upon inspecting mine, I think the tip of the hook is a bit smaller than the Boye or Bates hooks. It’s definitely shaped for optimal performance.

To add to it’s appeal the Clover Amour hooks come with color coded ergonomic grips on the handle. These are such a life saver! I’m already getting arthritis in my hands (I’m no spring chicken y’all, le sigh) so I’m keen to use the best I can afford and keep crocheting away.

I might go so far as to recommend starting out with these hooks, at least one, if you’re just learning to crochet. It’s so much easier to learn a new skill with the right tools, but often we don’t know what those are or don’t want to spend the money on a hobby that might not stick. These hooks would definitely make learning to crochet a bit easier I think. And they’re excellent to work with for those of us who love to crochet all the day long.

Thanks for the giveaway, and neat blog! The Textured Slouchy Hat pattern is intriguing, and perhaps I'll give it a try when I'm more experienced with crochet (I'm a newbie).
