Free Crochet Hat Pattern | Winter Pom Beanie

Sharing is caring!

The Winter Pom Hat crochet pattern features a bottom up design that’s easy to customize. The textured fabric is easy to crochet with photos to help.

My niece requested I crochet a hat for her, in a yarn of her choice. Didn’t she choose a lush color? It’s aptly named, Royalty, from Hobby Lobby’s I Love Cotton yarn line.

Their cotton yarn is a nice stretchy, soft worsted weight (#4) that I enjoy working with for many projects.

I also used this specific yarn on my Gingham Pillow Cover and it’s held up so well, as my preschooler commandeered that pillow for his bed! So it’s quite durable.

This little pom hat crocheted up so nicely. It’s so flexible-it fits everyone in the house (including me!) I’ve sized it for children & teens. The construction of the ribbed band and stitch/cotton yarn combo make it perfectly adjustable.

Materials:

  • (1) I Love This Cotton yarn in Royalty or other worsted weight cotton yarn
  • 4mm US hook size G-6 or hook needed to meet gauge
  • Pom Pom* These poms from Amazon are listed as “for Knitting hats” but we won’t hold that against them 😉
